Case Study: AG01
Location: Ngatea
Cows: 600 Spring Calving
Brief/Description:
- Existing concrete sump allowed for up to 3 days of storage before direct irrigation to pasture via Williams Spider travelling irrigator.
- Required suitably sized storage facility and low rate irrigation system at higher flow rates.
- Power restriction when cowshed was running so mindful of motor size on irrigation pump.
Solution:
All effluent transferred from existing concrete sump to a suitably sized HDPE lined storage pond. Stored effluent then stirred and pumped to pasture via 2 x Williams GreenBack Spider travelling irrigators with the ability to run one or two irrigators at a time.
A Mono PC pump was implemented into the design due to ability to effectively run at the two different duties required while only having an 11kw motor.
